Welder/Fabricator
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Supervisor
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Summary: Layouts, fits, and welds precut and fabricated components to assemble box containers including latch systems, lids and roofs by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Uses the prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Selects equipment and assures pre-cut and fabricated components are correct.
- Positions, aligns, and welds components together to build product.
- Grinds welds before product leaves work center.
- Moves product to next work station using cranes and forklifts.
- Completes checklist or other documents to record quality or production data.
- Welds latches, special hookups and hinges for scheduled orders.
- Maintains inventory of burnouts and bin items.
- Works on special projects or products as assigned.
- Maintains welding equipment in good working order.
- Maintains a clean and safe workplace. Sweeps area daily at the end of the shift.
- Completes checklist or other documents to record quality or production data.
- Promotes team environment.
Container Prep
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: Scrapes, grinds, and cleans welded products in preparation for painting or powder coating by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Uses the prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Reviews production work orders.
- Grinds, scrapes and chips rough edges, surplus weld and scale from container.
- Cleans container with air gun, water soluble or solvent based cleaners.
- Inspects and tightens all bolts.
- Uses forklifts to move product.
- Cleans work area, machines, tools and equipment.
- Inspects work piece for conformity to specifications.
Painter
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Supervisor
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Summary: Inspects and accepts prepped products for painting; paints products and inspects final paint quality; and moves box to staging area by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Uses the prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Performs to the best of their ability and maintain the highest quality standards possible
- Keeps a positive attitude towards the job and the company
- Continually increase knowledge and techniques through internal & external support
- Reviews work order to assure product match and paint requirements are understood.
- Inspects prepped product for cleanliness, damage or other non-conformance.
- STOP as soon as a “substandard issue” occurs to RESOLVE the issue myself or get support in resolving the issue.
- Wipes the product prior to painting to remove oil and dirt.
- Prepares painting equipment and assures paint parameters are within specification.
- Records all pertinent information on data sheets.
- Paints product to specified requirements.
- Performs a visual inspection and conducts a wet mil check for proper paint thickness.
- Maintains a clean working area.
- Maintains equipment by cleaning paint guns, lubricating paint pump, changing paint filters and conducting other preventive maintenance as required.
- Receives paint shipments by checking bills of lading to verify acceptable shipment, unloading paint, checking shipment for damages and recording any discrepancies.
- Secures paint area at the end of the shift by locking paint shop doors and turning off compressor and air valve then bleeding water off air tank.
- Assist in ordering paint supplies.
